Washington, DC – December 8, 2022 – As part of our annual employee holiday celebration, Invictus gives a significant charitable gift to an organization nominated by our employees.
It can be difficult to select only one from the list of worthy organizations, so this year our leadership designated three charities from the nominations to receive donations.
The Old Soldiers Home Foundation
As the recipient of our largest donation, The Old Soldiers Home Foundation was represented by Sam Gitchell at our annual Invictus holiday event to receive a check for $25,000.00.
The Old Soldiers Home Foundation’s mission is “to improve the quality of life and excellence in care for residents of the Armed Forces Retirement Home, our nation’s oldest home for enlisted veterans.” This is a cause very close to the heart of many of our Veteran employees, as well as Invictus leadership. Learn more about them at toshf.org.
Travis Mills Foundation
The Travis Mills Foundation was given $15,000.00, and “supports recalibrated veterans and their families through various programs that help these heroic men and women overcome physical and emotional obstacles, strengthen their families, and provide well-deserved rest and relaxation.” To learn more or offer your support go to travismillsfoundation.org.
Patriot Point was awarded a gift of $5,000.00. Patriot Point “is the Military Bowl Foundation’s 294-acre retreat that provides a relaxing and safe environment for our nation’s wounded, ill and injured service members, their families and caregivers. Thanks to the generosity of supporters, Patriot Point works with veteran and military service organizations to help guests heal through organized recreational activities and peer-to-peer communication.” To learn more about Patriot Point, visit patriotpoint.org
