Invictus has over six years of experience providing rapid-response cybersecurity solutions to various US Government customers and agencies. During this time, Invictus provided cleared staff just 11 days after an initial meeting with the customer, provided 83 additional engineers during a contract surge in 90 days, and, more recently, Invictus hired 200 engineers in 60 days on a new contract’s transition phase.
The Challenge
US Government organizations and agencies are burdened by long acquisition cycles and clearance processes and have trouble implementing timely engineering support or solutions to meet emerging threats or requirements. Many contracting companies face the challenge of providing rapid, cleared personnel on-site or at contract sites to meet our customers’ critical engineering needs.
The Solution
Invictus has answered this challenge using multiple levers that, either separately or combined, can provide rapid solutions.
Existing; In-place Government Contracts and Task Orders. Partnered with the Air Force Research Laboratory (AFRL), Invictus has several competitively awarded contract vehicles that provide US Government customers with Rapid Cyber Prototyping, Acquisition, and Transition (RCPAT) support. Since being awarded the Agile Cyber Technology 2 (ACT2) contract in 2018, Invictus has also received the follow-on ACT3 contract, and a unique Broad Agency Announcement (BAA) called the Operational Simulated Cyber Environment for Enhanced Resiliency (OSCER). These contract vehicles accept Research and Development (R&D) and Operations and Maintenance (O&M) funding. We can start to work approximately four weeks after a government customer’s Military Interdepartmental Purchase Requests (MIPRs), funds to the contract. In some cases, we have been able to shorten that timeline.
Fully Connected, Secure Contractor Facilities. Invictus has fully connected, secure facilities in the National Capital Region and in Colorado Springs, CO. These enable us to support US Government customers rapidly when on-site work is not available or not advantageous to the work. Invictus’ cyber lab is also established and on-site and can be leveraged immediately for research projects.
Badged Engineering Staff and a Quicker Time to Badge Process. When required, Invictus leverages staff with existing badges to support rapid requirements and when new personnel are required, our time to badge processes have been proven to be at least eight days quicker than most other contractors.
The Impact
Invictus stands out for its ability to swiftly respond to and fulfill US Government requirements with exceptional speed and efficiency, surpassing many other contractors in the field due to our well-structured contracts, highly skilled personnel, and state-of-the-art facilities.
A customer in Maryland required highly skilled cybersecurity engineers in a critical mission area. Invictus personnel were on-site 11 days after the first meeting. In total, Invictus staffed 77 highly skilled engineers in critical areas where other contractors and contracts were unable to.
Invictus provides 30-day forensic assessments for a specific customer, requiring cleared engineers with niche technical expertise. We have provided this expertise for one customer for 3 years and have been relied upon to fully assess critical items.
Our established contracts enable us to leverage the expertise of our industry-leading teammates. For example, in 2018, one customer required a surge to address additional technical requirements added to the scope of our cybersecurity contracts. Invictus and our teammates rapidly mobilized, providing 83 cleared engineers for 90 days to meet these evolving needs.
